Who I am

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been working with children, adolescents, adults, and families for a number of years. I earned my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University. I am fluent in English and Portuguese and I enjoy helping individuals from all cultural backgrounds.

Clinically, I implement psychodynamic, person-centered, strength based and cognitive-behavioral approaches and incorporate mindfulness strategies, when appropriate. I have clinical expertise in several areas including trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, crisis intervention, emotional stress, and self-esteem. My experience includes crisis assessment and intervention, play therapy trainings, and trauma trainings.

My approach is to create a warm, friendly and supportive environment that allows individuals to feel comfortable and safe while developing a therapeutic relationship.
